On Friday, July 25th, 2024, our nursery section embarked on an exciting and educational field trip to the Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Center (UWEC) Zoo in Entebbe. The trip was designed to combine learning with fun, providing our young learners with a memorable and enriching experience.
The children had the unique opportunity to see many of the animals they have been studying in class up close for the first time. As they toured the zoo, they were guided by knowledgeable staff who shared fascinating insights about the various animals. The tour guides were adept at engaging with the children, answering their curious questions, and explaining the animals’ behaviors and habitats in an age-appropriate manner.
Beyond the educational aspect, the trip also included plenty of time for play and relaxation. After a day of learning, the children enjoyed access to the zoo’s play area, where they participated in various games and activities. This playful conclusion to their visit allowed the children to unwind and have fun, making the trip a well-rounded experience.
The field trip to the Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Center not only expanded the children’s understanding of wildlife but also provided them with an opportunity to interact with their peers in a different environment. The excitement and joy on their faces were a testament to the success of the trip.
We extend our gratitude to the UWEC staff for their engaging and informative tour, and to the teachers and parents who helped make this educational adventure possible. It was a day filled with learning, exploration, and enjoyment, leaving our nursery students with lasting memories and a greater appreciation for the natural world.
